Thanks to Puerto Rico climate and humidity, with caution, you can enjoy your vacation or

event in one of the safest areas in America.
4-24-2020 SUNLIGHT could kill the coronavirus within minutes! New research from the

DHS Science and Technology directorate found that high humidity, temperatures, and

sunlight kills the virus in saliva droplets on non-porous surfaces and in the air.

The villa will be disinfected before your arrival. We have disinfecting tables, products and

procedures in case you transport an illness without knowing it (see our procedures in this

 page). In addition in case something escapes with these measures;

VILLA BONITA IS READY TO SHORTEN THE AVERAGE LIFE OF THE SURFACE OF 2

MINUTES AND IN AEROSOL IN LESS THAN A MINUTE AND A HALF WITH THE

CURRENT TEMPERATURES THAT CAN GO OVER 95 DEGREES AND WITH OUR

HUMIDIFIERS AND METERS.

The climate of Puerto Rico in the Köppen climate classification is predominately tropical

rainforest. Temperatures throughout the year are warm to hot, averaging near 85 °F (29 °C)

in lower elevations and 70 °F (21 °C) in the mountains.  Villa Bonita Average - 85 degree

fahrenheit.

The average annual relative humidity is 76.5% and average monthly relative humidity

ranges from 73% in March to 78% in June.
Another singularity of the climate of Puerto

Rico is the large number of hours of sunshine it receives. Since it exceeds 3000 hours a

year!

  • Medical Exemption for Hand Sanitizer

TSA is allowing one liquid hand sanitizer container, up to 12 ounces per passenger, in carry-on bags until further notice.

Since these containers exceed the standard allowance typically permitted through a checkpoint, they will need to be

screened separately. This will add some time to your checkpoint screening experience. Please keep in mind that all other

liquids, gels and aerosols brought to a checkpoint continue to be limited to 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters carried in a one

quart-size bag.

We have hand sanitizers (and many more measures) but according to the FDA guidelines

only if soap and water are not available hand sanitizers can be a good alternative.

The best way to prevent the spread of infections and decrease the risk of getting sick is by washing your hands with plain soap and water, advises the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If soap and water are not available, the CDC recommends using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol to reduce the number of germs on your hands. However, hand sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs, are not as effective when hands are visibly dirty or greasy, and may not remove harmful chemicals.

Hand sanitizers are an easy, quick alternative when handwashing with plain soap and water isn’t convenient or possible.

Sea and pool water could be enemies of the coronavirus

They would be "quite hostile means" for the virus.

Sea or pool water are, "in principle, quite hostile means" for coronaviruses, according to

virologist Javier Cantón, although he warns that there are no scientific studies on their

permanence in these places. The arrival of good weather and the start of the confinement

de-escalation plan has raised the question of when and how to access beaches and

swimming pools and whether their waters are safe from COVID-19. The Institute for

Spanish Tourist Quality has just commissioned the Higher Council for Scientific Research to

study the behavior of the coronavirus in water and sand, as it is essential information for

taking action on the opening of these places. Cantón, a virologist at the Autonomous

University of Madrid, tells EFE that both sea and pool water are, "in principle, quite hostile

media" for this type of virus. Coronaviruses have an envelope, a lipid membrane, and when

they enter salt water, they tend to plasmolysis, that is, the water inside the virus tends to go

outside. That "could inactivate it." In the case of swimming pools, the reason is the chlorine

that is added to the water and that, "in principle, it would also be effective for this," says

Cantón.

Canton's opinion on swimming pools is in line with that stated by the United States Centers

for Disease Control and Prevention, whose website contains advice and recommendations

for citizens before Covid-19. The US body indicates that "there is no evidence that COVID-

19 can spread among humans through water" and adds that "proper maintenance and

disinfection (with chlorine and bromine) of swimming pools should be effective for the

fight of the disease".

To prevent coronavirus, go beyond hand-washing. Moisturize, too
BY REBECCA GALE, THE WASHINGTON POST
Published: Thu, March 19, 2020 5:16 AMParagraph.

"Keeping skin moisturized is important," said Craig Shapiro, an attending physician in pediatric infectious diseases at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Delaware. "If the skin is breaking down or raw, then the soap and alcohol disinfectants do not work as well. Cracked and bleeding hands also are more susceptible to infections. "Whenever you have a break in that skin barrier, that allows germs and bacteria to invade the skin area," said Christina Johns, senior medical adviser and spokeswoman for PM Pediatrics.

Johns and Shapiro confirmed that moisturizing hands does not increase the likelihood of picking up or spreading germs, especially if the hands are clean. Moisturizing hands does reduce microbial shedding from the skin and is part of good hand hygiene, which will protect people from picking up viruses and reduce the likelihood of transmission.

"Lotion doesn't need to be a constant thing to be effective," said Preeti Malani, an infectious-disease doctor and chief health officer at the University of Michigan. And it doesn't need to be expensive: Drugstore brands, such as Vaseline and Aquaphor, can work well. Moisturizing lotions work by locking in existing moisture, so the ideal time to apply them is after washing, when the skin is hydrated. "At bedtime, put on some good-quality, inexpensive, effective moisturizer," she said. "If your skin is becoming raw and dry, you might be washing your hands too much."
